

BERNARD E. GEAGHANAge 85, of Wilmington, DE passed away on Thursday June 12, 2008.
Bernard, a Pearl Harbor Survivor, was a United States Army Air
Corps Veteran of WWII. He served from 1941 to 1945 as a Technical Sergeant in
Communications. He received 4 Silver Service Stars and a commendation from
General Davidson for "Gallentry Under Fire and Bombing" by the
Japanese Imperial Airforce. Bernard was a 1951 graduate of Rutgers University
and was an English Teacher at Krebs, P.S. DuPont, Conrad High School and
Glasgow High School. He was a member of Delaware Veterans Post #1 and a
member of the American Federation of Teachers. He was predeceased by his wife, Ethel Geaghan and by his
daughter, Colleen Adcock. Bernard is survived by his son, Stephen B. Geaghan;
his daughter, Maire B. Durkan and her husband, Patrick; his sisters, Frances
McClusky and Theresa LePage; and his 10 grandchildren, Lauren, Ellen, Marie,
Tom, Michael, Eamon, Aidan, Connor, Brendan and Colleen. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of
Christian Burial at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 2503 Centerville Road,
Wilmington, on Wednesday June 18, 2008 at 12noon, where visitation will begin
at 11am. Burial will be in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bear,
DE. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Bernard may be
