ROGER GIBBONS Age 73, of Bethel Township,
PA, died July 2, 2007 after a long, courageous battle with cancer at Hospital
of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA. Born in Chester, PA,
raised in Twin Oaks, PA and a former resident of Upper Chichester, PA, he had
resided in Bethel Township since 1962. Mr. Gibbons founded the Gibbons
Insurance Agency in 1964 in the Upper Chichester area. He served in the U.S.
Marine Corp. during the Korean Conflict as a Sergeant. He was past president
of the Chichester Rotary 7450, Chichester Business Assn. and Lower Delco
Lion's Club, he was also a member of the Del Vets in Wilmington, DE, Concord
Masonic Lodge 625. He volunteered for the Marine Corp. Toys for Tots and
Purple Heart. In April, 2007, Upper Chichester Twp. honored Roger by naming
the park located at the corner of Chichester Ave. and Meetinghouse Rd.
"Roger Gibbons Park". A devoted husband, father, and grandfather,
he never missed his grandsons', M.J. and Michael's sporting events. He is survived by his
wife of 53 years, Marilyn E. Lowe Gibbons; his son, Mark J. and his wife,
Robin Gibbons of Bethel Twp., PA; 2 grandchildren, M.J. and Michael Gibbons. Funeral service were
held Monday, July 9, 10 am at the PAGANO FUNERAL HOME, 3711 Foulk Rd., Bethel
Twp., PA. Masonic services by Concord Lodge, 625 F&AM, Sunday, 8 pm.
Viewing was Sunday, July 8 from 6:30-9 pm and also Monday from 8:30-10 am at
the Pagano Funeral Home. Interment was at Lawn Croft Cemetery, Linwood, PA. In Roger's memory,
