

CARL HILL SR.
Carl was born and raised on his family's farm in
the beautiful hill country of Schuylkill County, PA. After attending Juniata
College, he and his loving wife, Shirley, moved to Wilmington, DE, where he
began his career at Atlas Chemical. He entered the life and health insurance
business in 1968 first representing Massachusetts Mutual, then, receiving his
CLU in 1975. In 1981 he joined Blue Cross Blue Shield of Delaware, rising to
the position of Manager of Marketing for National Accounts before his
retirement in 1999. He is past president of the New Castle County and
Delaware Associations of Life Underwriters and was most recently on the Board
of Directors of the Association of Health Insurance Agents. His insurance and
advisor career is distinguished by his volunteer service to the National
Association for Insurance and Financials Advisors (NAIFA) holding many
leadership positions during his 36 years of membership. Carl was a member of
the board of directors of the Rotary Club of Brandywine and an associate
member of the Delaware Veterans Post #1. He was an officer of the Delaware
Jaycees and president of the Talleyville chapter. A loving and caring family man, he is survived by
his wife of 52 years, Shirley Schaeffer Hill; daughter, Lynn D. Jacobson, and
husband, Carl, of Newark, DE; son, Craig Hill and fiancé Dyan Demoss of
Wilmington, DE; son, Carl (Chuck) Hill, Jr. and wife Kim of Wilmington, DE;
and four grandchildren, Tyler and Spencer Jacobson and Conor and Morgan Hill. A
memorial service was held on Tuesday, October 17 at 11 am, at the Lutheran
Church of the Good Shepherd, 1530 Foulk Road, Wilmington, DE. Burial was
private. |
